The AUTH Command The AUTH command is an ESMTP command (SMTP service extension) that is used to authenticate the client to the server. The AUTH command sends the clients username and password to the e-mail server. email - What's different between "250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN ...

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/42852748/whats-different-between-250-auth-login-plain-and-250-auth-login-plain
The second example, 250-AUTH=LOGIN PLAIN, is an identical command but is intended for non-RFC-compliant email clients. Older clients, such as Outlook 2003 and older, did not implement the AUTH command correctly and instead expected an equals sign between AUTH and the available authentication methods.

    https://community.sophos.com/utm-firewall/f/mail-protection-smtp-pop3-antispam-and-antivirus/128994/anybody-ever-disabled-auth-plain-login-in-smtp
PLAIN LOGIN The remote SMTP server supports the 'STARTTLS' command but isn't enforcing the use of it for the cleartext authentication mechanisms. Already added "ANY" host to "Require TLS Negotiation Hosts/Nets" but the connection an port 25 still offers me "250-AUTH PLAIN LOGIN" Any idea how to enforce the deny of plain auth? Thx a lot and cheers

WiFi Auto Authenticator - Apps on Google Play

This app stores the Web Auth portal password in plain text because it is then sent in the HTTP request during automatic login procedure. Be aware that the HTTP requests do not have to be secure if the Web Auth is running on un-encrypted HTTP. This app does not validate the server SSL certificates.
