- da seit kurzer Zeit lightdm mit einem segfault den Dienst quittiert (habe nicht herausfinden koennen, woran das liegt), moechte ich gerne XFCE ohne login manager aus der Konsole heraus starten. Natuerlich funktionieren startx oder startxfce, aber dann fehlen ja bekanntlich Rechte zum Herunterfahren/mounten/etc.

- Some additional information, it looks like gdm is/was being used for the display manager. It appears that gdm is marked as "deinstall" using dpkg. /etc/X11/default-display-manager has the display manager listed as "/usr/sbin/gdm", but this file does not exist.
