How to Change Login Screen Background in Fedora Workstation

    https://www.debugpoint.com/2021/09/change-login-background-fedora/
The login screen in Fedora - GNOME is managed by GNOME Display Manager (gdm) via .gresource file. The gdm reads this file and paints the login screen as instructed. We are going to use a copr repo which is created by a developer (name gdm-wallpaper) to ease this work. And it's very simple. Open a terminal in Fedora.

Login screen in Fedora 22 Workstation uses Wayland - Fedora Magazine

    https://fedoramagazine.org/login-screen-in-fedora-22-workstation-uses-wayland/
The goal in Fedora is to progress to the point of replacing X with Wayland wherever it appears, and the login screen is a vital first step towards this goal. The reasoning behind this is that the login screen is sufficiently isolated and contained, making it an ideal first place to use Wayland by default.

You can return to your session either by entering your password to unlock the session or by pressing [Ctrl]+ [Alt]+ [F2] (or sometimes F3, F4… up to F6). And one more note. There's a change your monitors.xml contain some settings that gdm doesn't like. We've had such a case here on Ask Fedora.

To be able to use a GTK theme as your GDM login screen theme, you'll need to make sure the theme is installed in /usr/share/themes and that it contains a gnome-shell subdirectory with a valid GNOME Shell theme (a valid gnome-shell.css file). It's worth noting that gdm-tools is new, and it probably hasn't been widely tested.
