[SOLVED] Remote Desktop ends after login - Windows Forum

    https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/362245-remote-desktop-ends-after-login
General Windows Here's the deal. I have a user who is trying to login remotely. When they attempt to, the RDP window closes after the 'Preparing Desktop' stage. Windows Server 2008 R2 with CAL's. I tried to login to their profile in my office and experienced the same issue. I tried recreating the user and still have the same issue. Any ideas?

Windows 10 Remote Desktop Connection crashes seconds after ...

    https://davidvielmetter.com/tricks/windows-10-remote-desktop-connection-crashes-seconds-after-being-established/
[the solution] The issue is caused by a printer driver where when the affected printers are redirected as part of the RDP session, the session crashes unexpectedly. The long term fix should be to apply all missing updates and upgrade to the latest build. The short fix is to stop redirecting printers as part of the RDP connection profile. That's it.

If this doesn't help you, try the following command before: sudo apt-get install mate-core. (I'm not sure but I used a pre-compiled modified ubuntu by hardkernel.
